Accessories are the practical category — the gear that makes cannabis usable. Happy Time stocks papers, grinders, 510-thread batteries, lighters, dab tools, storage jars, and more at all three Washington stores. This guide covers what to buy when, what to skip, and what regular customers replace versus upgrade.

510-thread batteries — what to buy

A good 510-thread battery is the most useful accessory you can own if you vape carts. Variable-voltage batteries let you tune heat to the cart\'s recommended voltage — important for live rosin and live resin (lower voltage preserves terpenes; high voltage burns them). Standard pen-style batteries are simpler and cheaper but cook every cart at the same heat. Happy Time stocks both at every store.

Grinders — when to invest

A 4-piece grinder (top, grind chamber, screen, kief catch) is the right buy for any regular flower customer. Aluminum bodies are cheaper; CNC-machined or titanium bodies last decades. Pocket-sized plastic grinders are fine for occasional use but break in 6-12 months. The kief catch at the bottom collects pure trichome dust over weeks of use — bonus concentrate for free.

Papers — RAW, OCB, Elements: which is which

Hemp-fiber papers (RAW classic, OCB Bamboo) burn slow and clean. Rice papers (RAW black, Elements rice) are thinner, slower-burning, near-tasteless. Avoid bleached white papers — they taste worse and have residual chemicals. Tip: 1¼ size is the standard for personal joints; King size for shareable.

Storage — flower jar discipline

Best home flower storage: opaque or amber glass jar, room temperature (60-70°F), in a drawer or cabinet (not a sunny window), with a Boveda 62% RH humidity pack. Cannabis stored that way holds peak quality 6-12 months. For more, see our flower guide. Happy Time sells humidity packs at all three stores.

Compliance — accessories are sold under WSLCB rules

Cannabis accessories sold at Happy Time follow WSLCB rules: 21+ ID at entry (we don\'t sell to under-21 even for paraphernalia), cash or debit only, pickup only — no delivery (see WAC 314-55-079 in Sources). Hours: 8 AM to 12 AM allowed; Happy Time Yakima open until 11:30 PM.

Cannabis Accessories — frequently asked questions

What's the most useful first accessory to buy?

A 4-piece grinder if you smoke flower, or a quality 510-thread battery if you vape carts. Both are sub-$30 buys at Happy Time and significantly improve the experience compared to no grinder / disposable battery.

How long does a 510-thread battery last?

Variable-voltage 510 batteries from quality brands last 1-3 years of regular use. Cheap pen-style batteries often die within 6 months. The Happy Time budtender will route you to the right tier based on usage.

Do I need to be 21+ to buy accessories at Happy Time?

Yes. Our retail license is 21+, including for accessories. Bring valid government-issued photo ID at entry. Everyone in the party must be 21+ regardless of who is buying.

Can I buy accessories online from Happy Time?

You can reserve online for in-store pickup. Washington state law (WAC 314-55-079) prohibits cannabis delivery from any licensed retailer — even for accessories sold alongside cannabis at our stores.
